Arabic RTL Websites for SEO and GEO: What I Fix on Every Bilingual Build

Mirroring CSS is not a bilingual strategy. How I structure Arabic/English sites so Google, users, and AI answer engines understand both versions — from Cairo to the Gulf.

Clients in Egypt and the Gulf often ask for "Arabic and English" on the same deadline as the English-only mockup. That is achievable — but RTL (right-to-left) is a product decision, not a translation plugin checkbox.

**Separate URLs, not duplicate content chaos.** I use dedicated routes — yg-projects.vercel.app and yg-projects.vercel.app/ar — with hreflang alternates, canonical tags, and consistent entity names in both languages. "Youssef George" and "يوسف جورج" should describe the same person to crawlers and to ChatGPT.

**Typography and spacing are SEO signals for humans.** Arabic needs comfortable line height, proper font choice (Cairo on this site), and logical properties instead of hard-coded left margins. Broken RTL hurts time-on-page — which hurts rankings.

**GEO needs quotable Arabic passages.** Generative engines cite clear statements. I write Arabic excerpts and headings that answer real questions: who builds healthcare sites in the UAE, how to book a consultation in Cairo, what ERP means for a wellness group. Keyword stuffing in either language fails; direct answers win.

**Structured data in both languages.** BlogPosting, FAQPage, and ProfessionalService JSON-LD should reflect the page language. Mixed-language schema confuses machines.

**Forms, phones, and currency localized.** Gulf clients expect +971 formats; Egyptian leads expect +20. E-commerce for brands like 360 Nutrition needs currency and checkout copy that matches the market — not a dollar sign on an AED store.

**Test Arabic on real Android devices.** Gulf and Egyptian traffic is overwhelmingly mobile. If the hero CTA clips in Arabic, you lose leads before SEO metrics even matter.
